1. Terms & Conditions

1.1. General Information

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases made on www.mertz-design.dk, operated by:

1.2. Secure Online Shopping

We use Bambora’s payment system, which meets all applicable security requirements and is certified by international standards. All payments are processed through an encrypted SSL connection to protect your information.

1.3. Prices & Payment

All prices are stated in Danish kroner (DKK) and include 25% VAT. The price displayed at the time of ordering is the applicable price. We accept the following payment cards:

JCB
Maestro
ApplePay

Payment is only charged when the order is dispatched.

1.4. Delivery & Shipping

We ship with GLS, DAO365, or PostNord. Stock items are typically delivered within 3-5 business days within Denmark. Customized items may have longer delivery times, which will be communicated at the time of ordering.

Orders over 800 DKK are shipped free of charge within Denmark.
Orders under 800 DKK are subject to a shipping fee of 40 DKK (to the nearest parcel shop).

1.5. Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days from the day you receive the item. For purchases made between November 24 and December 24, the return deadline is extended to January 31.

To cancel your purchase, send an email to info@mertz-design.dk with:

Order number
Order date
Billing name and address

Returns are at your own expense and must be shipped no later than 14 days after notifying us of your withdrawal.

1.5a. Depreciation
The item must be returned in the same condition as received. If the item has been used beyond regular inspection, a deduction may be applied based on its reduced market value.

1.5b. Return Policy
You are responsible for return shipping costs and ensuring proper packaging. We recommend using the original packaging and a trackable shipping method.

1.5c. Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring the item is securely packaged. Any damage due to inadequate packaging is your responsibility.

Note: Shipments without postage or sent cash on delivery will be refused.

1.5d. Refunds
Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item. The refund will be issued using the same payment method as the original purchase. We may withhold the refund until we have received the return package or proof of timely shipment.

1.6. Warranty & Claims

You have a 24-month warranty (12 months for business purchases). Any defects or faults must be reported within a reasonable time – no later than 2 months after discovery.

Photos (if possible)

For justified claims, we cover reasonable shipping costs. Please include a copy of the shipping receipt.

We reserve the right to errors, price changes, and out-of-stock items.

2. Privacy Policy

At Mertz-Design ApS, we take your data protection seriously. Here you can read how we collect, store, and use your information, as well as your rights.

2.1. Collection of Personal Data

We only collect personal data relevant to your activity with Mertz-Design ApS, including:

Information you provide, such as name, address, phone number, and email when purchasing products or leather samples.
Technical information about your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), IP address, and approximate location.
Pages you visit on our website.

We may also use cookies to track the contents of your shopping cart while you browse.

2.2. Processing & Use of Personal Data

We use your information for the following purposes:

Processing and delivering your orders.
Sending order confirmations, shipping details, and invoices.
Managing returns and complaints.
Improving our website and customer experience via cookies (see our Cookie Policy for details).

Your contact details, such as name and address, are collected to fulfill your order. Your email is used to send order confirmations, shipping details, and invoices.

For payments, you will be redirected to our payment provider, ePay, which securely processes your card details. We only receive anonymized transaction data to link payments to orders. We do not store your card information.

2.3. Security – We Protect Your Data

We have implemented technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, misuse, and loss. Only trusted employees have access to your data, and we continuously review our security procedures.

2.4. Data Retention & Deletion

We store your data as long as required by law or as relevant for the purpose of collection. Your information (except your email if you have opted into promotions) will be deleted five years after you received your product or service.

2.5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, nor do we transfer your data outside the EU.

We only share your information with:

Third-party services assisting with shipping, accounting, and website operations.
Authorities if required by law.
Our payment provider in connection with transactions.

We use only data processors within the EU or in countries that offer adequate data protection.
